Main rain Season in Uganda Start

By Patrick Luganda in Kampala
The skies have opened up and the rain is coming down in torrents. It is a great relief for millions of Uganda farmers, like in several countries in Africa, where farming is heavily dependent on rain from the heavens.

Ms Lillian Nkwenge the Communications Manger at the Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA) in Kampala says the rains have started in earnest and the farmers should make use of the rains to plant various crops as well as plan agriculture related activities.

The seasonal climate forecast for Uganda is now available at the UNMA website www.unma.org

Experts say this is main rain season for the country and is a critical in the food production for the country and neighbouring countries that buy food from Uganda.
