Short Rainy Season Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec 2010 for Kenya

-La Nina seen intensifying towards end-2010

-Could affect 2011's long rains too

NAIROBI (Reuters AlertNet) - Meteorologists said rainfall during Kenya's short rainy season later this year is expected to be less than usual and also may be depressed in the first half of 2011, which could curb agricultural output.

  • Sporadic heavy and shortlived rainfall storms may, however, occur in the arid and semi arid lands (ASALS);
