Kampala Declaration Stresses Cross-Regional Cooperation on Climate Services

Geneva WMO 23 April 2015: During a Workshop on Improving Climate Services for Farmers in Africa and South Asia, farmers and experts adopted the Kampala Declaration on promoting cross-regional cooperation on sharing and using knowledge on climate products and services. The Declaration came about because of the increased recognition that significant progress has been made in weather and climate forecasting through improved data availability and advances in numerical modeling.

World Meteorological Organization Holds Critical Global Climate Services Discussions in Geneva

Geneva June 26,2013: The World Meteorological Organization(WMO) Intergovernmental Board on Climate Services holds its first session 2 to 5 July 2013 in Geneva to discuss implementation of the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS). This is a country-driven initiative to provide accurate and accessible climate services to users such as disaster management authorities, water and energy utilities, public health agencies, the transport sector and farmers.
